What is the Education Cluster Toolkit?
The Education Cluster Toolkit (hereafter “the Toolkit”) provides key templates, tools and guidance for Education Cluster coordination staff in the field.
The tools and documents in the Toolkit are adaptable, but they represent a way to standardize the work of the Education Cluster and solve common issues.
The Toolkit is a living set of resources:
- managed by the Global Education Cluster (GEC) team (Education Cluster Unit and Rapid Response Team members);
- updated in line with best practices and newly developed tools.
- The GEC depends on country coordination teams’ feedback to further develop and improve the Toolkit. Feedback and need for new tools/templates should be provided through the Helpdesk.
- As the next step, the Toolkit will be translated into French and Arabic.
The Toolkit tools, guidance and resources are focused specifically on cluster work and coordination issues, rather than more general education in emergencies documents. For more general information and technical resources relating to education in emergencies, please visit the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies website.
Where do I find and download the tools I want?
Here on the GEC website. Use the interactive widget above to navigate through the Toolkit folders to access the resources you are looking for. If you are not able to find what you are looking for, please contact the Helpdesk.
Many of the tools and documents are self-explanatory. However, some of the tools may need explanation. Your first line of support should always be the Helpdesk.
If you have a Box account and would like to login to your account or would like to create a Box account, click on this icon located in the top right hand corner. Then click on “Login”. If you have an account, click on “Secure Login”. If you would like to create an account, click on “Create an Account”. Once you login or create an account, you can click on the Options icon. A dropdown menu will appear. From this menu, you can download folders and resources, share links to folders or specific resources, tag a folder or specific resource as favorites so it will always appear in the top right hand corner of your Box account.
You can also access the Toolkit directly via Box.
Important: It is not recommended to download the Toolkit once and for all, as it will be regularly updated and new tools added. Education Clusters coordination staff will be informed by e-mail when sections of the Toolkit are added and/or updated.
