Accountability

There are two inter-related dimensions at the core of the Global Education Cluster’s accountability:

  1. Supporting country coordination mechanisms to promote a people-centered approach and integrate Accountability to Affected Populations throughout Education in Emergencies responses
  2. Ensure accountability for results and performance at both the country and global levels

Accountability to Affected Populations should be understood as the mutual responsibility of the Education Cluster and its partners to work towards ensuring people are at the centre of our work. By listening to, engaging with and holding ourselves accountable to affected and at-risk people and communities helps drive appropriate, timely, effective humanitarian action.
